The following is a Daily Dragon Q&A with scream queen, comic book publisher and screenwriter Brinke Stevens:

Have you been in production or have you been touring around doing a lot of shows and conventions?

I started out the year doing movies. [I] spent January and February in Orlando, Florida shooting a vampire movie called Victoria’s Shadow. Since then, I’ve done three or four more films; just smaller parts. But now I’ve begun my convention-touring season, and I have shows through Halloween.

Speaking of Halloween, what’s your favorite horror movie that you watch over and over in your free time?

I would have to say the Evil Dead series. Evil Dead I and II especially. To me it’s very hard to get scared anymore watching a horror film, because I know all of the techniques from my own experience. But I love those two movies. They’re so bizarre and surreal.

Of all your films, which one is your personal favorite?

Of all my movies, I like Haunting Fear the most. It stars Jan Michael Vincent and Karen Black. I’m in the entire movie and through the course of it I slowly go insane. Since movies are shot out of sequence, on any given day I had to show up for work and ask myself, “How crazy am I today?”

You’re a fan of horror films. Are you a comic book fan as well?

Absolutely. Wonder Woman and Vampirella were tremendous role models for me growing up. And I always knew I would write and publish my own comic book. I just knew it.
