Ju-On and Ju-On 2 Screening
The Dragon*Con Independent Film Track brings you a double
feature showing of Ju-On and Ju-On 2.
Ju-On premiered in 2000 as a straight-to-video feature. Its
astonishing success provided the financial backing to create Ju-On 2
for the big screen with improved EFX.
A
must-see for horror fans and fans of Asian cinema. Neither film has been
released in any form in the U.S. Ju-On, a huge hit in Japan, is
the successor to The Ring. The third Ju-On film (Ju-On:
The Grudge) will be released to theaters in September, and an
English version titled The Grudge starring Sarah Michelle Gellar
(of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame) hits the screen soon after.
Ju-On tells four interconnected, dream-like stories of what
happens after a series of murders curses a house. The independent scenes
are inevitably linked in a chaotic collage of madness and horror. Its
disturbing imagery will stick with you, lights on or off.
Japanese
audiences have claimed this to be the most frightening movie ever made.
Heading up the cast is Chiaki Kuriyama, famous as the
mace-wielding schoolgirl killer from Kill Bill.
This is your chance to see where the horror began. Ju-On
and Ju-On 2 will be presented as a double feature. Both films
will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles.
