Ahh, rejuvenation. The exuberance of—not youth—diehard fandom. Inhaling the scent of fanaticism sends shivers throughout my atrophied system. Potential rears its beautiful head once again. But I still need more.

There! Anime girls! Hogwarts students! Trekkies! Dragonriders! Hobbits and bards and warriors and jedi!

Rumors of storytelling’s death, I am afraid, have been greatly exaggerated—and grossly premature. It is inherent in humanity’s genes to relay our history, morals, and beliefs via tales. Hopes, dreams—even fears and warnings—all are passed from generation to generation. So long as we communicate, storytelling will persist.

Monday night. Already I am anxious. I don’t know what I will be doing come Friday morning—and I must know. Choices. Too many options, I cannot see ahead. Panic.

Where to start: “Nimoy & Shatner” or “Write a Story in an Hour?” At least I know I’ll be remaining in the Hyatt for the next session, but will it be the Writing Track’s “Storytelling…Is it a Lost Art?” or Dark Fantasy’s “New Blood”? Then comes the 1PM, 2:30PM, and 4PM slots …
