The Silk Road Track Presents the 1st Annual Origami Contest

New for 2012, in honor of the Year of the Dragon, the Silk Road will host the first annual Origami Contest for Best Origami Dragon.

Origami: An ancient artform that transforms a flat sheet of material into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques only, without the use of cuts or glue.

This juried competition will have prizes for 1st place decided by the judges and a fan favorite decided by votes.

Contest rules:

1. You must be an attending member of Dragon*Con 2012 to enter.
2. Origami must be done by person submitting entry.
3. Finished piece should be no larger than 24″.
4. To be considered for the contest, photos of original origami must be submitted by August 1st.
5. Bring origami to Dragon*Con for contest judging (time and date of the judging TBA).

Applicants will be notified of acceptance status and asked for more information regarding their pieces by August 5th.

Submit photographs for consideration to SilkRoad (at) DragonCon (dot) org along with name.
