2013 Dragon Con Charities Need Your Support!

Dragon Con has had a rich and illustrious history of supporting charities. This year, we have three primary charities, and for the first time, Dragon Con fans were able to choose which charities the convention would be supporting.

As always, the fans stepped up wonderfully and cast nearly 40,000 votes over two weeks, choosing from a list of five charities.

Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary won with 66%, followed by Georgia Conservancy and the Marcus Autism Center. They will receive 50%, 30%, and 20% of the money we raise, respectively.

There will be four main charity events this year. Two will be on Saturday and two on Sunday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This is to give us all time to stop by each and have a look at what they have to offer!

“Cosplay Charity Auction” Props, accessories, makeup related items, whole and partial costumes: find the perfect pieces for your cosplay collection while supporting a great cause. Sat 3PM, Hanover C-E (Hy).

“Dragon Con Charity Auction – Books &Art” This auction will focus on books and art. Sat 11:30AM, Hanover C-E (Hy).

“Dragon Con Charity Auction” Lots of spectacular items to go on the block! Stop by the donation booth prior to the auction to see some of the items or donate your own. Sun 10AM, Hanover C-E (Hy).

“Don S. Davis Memorial Charity Auction” The Stargate Multiverse Track is proud to present the Don S. Davis Memorial Charity Auction, now in its 6th year. Sun 4PM, Hanover C-E (Hy).

Please try to stop by each and have a look at what’s up under the hammer. You won’t believe some of the fantastic items that will be up for grabs.

Last year, we raised $45,000 for ALS. Since we’ll have even more people attending Dragon Con this year, we should be able to pass that mark by, oh…sometime Friday afternoon, if we really try!

Please help us make this year’s Dragon Con charity effort the most successful ever!
