Dragon Con brings memes to life. Med-goose-a and Purr-seus (imagine cat ears—they are on order!) personify this fact. Bringing bubbly personalities and contagious happiness, they were a true joy to talk with in the Marriott lobby Thursday at 2PM.

Daily Dragon (DD): Hello! May I have your name and who you are cosplaying?
Megan “Med-goose-a” (M): My name’s Megan and I’m cosplaying the internet meme.
DD: Med-goose-a?
M: Yeah! Like a play on Medusa.
Matthew “Purrseus” (P): I’m Matthew and I am cosplaying Purr-seus.
M: We still need to get his cat ears.
P: Yeah, she had the idea on the train here.
DD: What is one word to describe how you feel right now?
M: Euphoric!
P: Excited!
DD: How many hours total did you put into your cosplay?
M: About ten hours.
DD: What was the last thing you finished before coming to the con?
M: The toga. We still need to get the cat ears for Purr-seus.
DD: Accuracy vs. comfort in cosplays?
M: It’s a toss-up. I really like to incorporate comfort in any cosplay, but accuracy is also important. I have another cosplay with a mask that is able to lift up, so I am still able to drink. Whatever cosplay I do, I try to strike a balance.
DD: Did you have to cut anything from the cosplay last minute?
M: Nothing!
DD: What is the greatest single piece of advice you can give to new cosplayers?
M: Be patient with yourself. You’re gonna make mistakes. It’s part of the learning experience.
P: Find someone who likes to make cosplay.
The pair of meme-tastic cosplayers were an absolute delight. Keep an eye out for the pair. Maybe Purr-seus will earn his ears, if he manages to complete his heroic journey!
