T-Rex stampede beware, a hunter has been spotted in the jungle! Okay, the Hilton might not be a jungle, but wild dinos are known to roam—and spontaneously dance! I spotted Turok the Dinosaur Hunter in the act of hunting one such dino on Wednesday at 7:30PM in the main lobby and stopped them long enough to ask a few questions. This is the first entry in my Cosplay Spotlight series, where I ask cosplayers a set of questions that we are all curious about. Without further ado, let’s delve into the minds of a few of our wonderful cosplayers here at Dragon Con!

Daily Dragon (DD): Hello! May I have your name and who you are cosplaying?
Desiree Potter (DP): Desiree Potter, and I am an inflatable T-Rex with the Marriott carpet pattern as the design of the skin.
DD: What is one word for how you feel right now?
DP: Happy! Because I’m at Dragon Con!
DD: How many hours did you put into your cosplay?
DP: Zero hours, I ordered it! There was a little bit of time spent arranging the order with the Facebook group that coordinates the T-Rex meetups, and somebody special ordered a large volume of suits. I got one!
DD: Is this your first cosplay?
DP: No, I’ve been cosplaying since 2004.
DD: What is your single greatest piece of advice for new cosplayers?
DP: Cosplay is for you. If you don’t love it, or if you don’t feel good, then you’ll change it. And you’re not performing for somebody else to approve, or like it. As long as you like it, that’s all that matters.
Daily Dragon (DD): Hello! May I have your name and who you are cosplaying?
Nick Giglio (NG): Nick Giglio, and I am Turok Dinosaur Hunter.
DD: What is one word for how you feel right now?
NG: Blessed.
DD: How many hours did you put into your cosplay?
NG: About ten.
DD: What’s the last thing you finished before leaving for the Con?
NG: This is a repeat cosplay from previous years, so I didn’t have to do anything this year.
DD: If you had to choose between accuracy and comfort in cosplay?
NG: Comfort. You gotta be able to go to the restroom in cosplay.
DD: Did you have to cut anything for the costume that you had planned?
NG: Not for this one, not this year, no.
DD: What is your single greatest piece of advice for new cosplayers?
NG: Finish it, then fix it.
This concludes the first entry into Cosplay Spotlight! Watch for more coverage throughout the con. Partying T-Rexes, keep an eye out for the great hunter, or he might obtain more trophies for his spear.
