Each year, Dragon Con commits to helping the local community by raising funds and providing a dollar for dollar match up to $150,000, an increased match of $25,000 from last year. Our charity partner this year is Hope Atlanta, Georgia’s longest-standing nonprofit committed to preventing and ending homelessness for the last 125 years. They have helped thousands of low-income to very-low income individuals and families to obtain housing and achieve security and stability by working hand-in-hand with them and connecting them to the resources they need to achieve self-sufficiency. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, so Hope Atlanta offers a comprehensive approach to street outreach, housing solutions, case management, wraparound services, behavioral health services, and veteran services.

Hope Atlanta serves all community members in need, including individuals, families, senior citizens, children, veterans, and those living with HIV/AIDS. The need for Hope Atlanta’s services has recently grown, the call volume increasing from 3,000 to 15,000 calls each month, or approximately five times more people reaching out for help. Over 35% of Hope Atlanta’s clients are families with children.
