Each year, Dragon Con selects a charity to receive the fundraising conducted during various events at the convention. This year’s beneficiary is Literacy Action Inc. For nearly 50 years, Literacy Action has provided educational instruction to advance adults towards employment, citizenship, better wages, and post-secondary education. Literacy Action is the largest nonprofit provider of free adult basic education in Georgia.

Several special events during the convention will help raise money for Literacy Action:

• Coloring for Charity—Color and wind down after a busy day for just a suggested charity donation. Supplies provided. Friday at 8:30PM, Regency V (Hyatt).
• Ultimate Trivia for Charity—If you’re looking for something a little more rowdy, join host Lt. Moxie Magnus, Chief Cosmetologist for the USS Enterprise (under James T. Kirk) for a rousing game of trivia. Friday 8:30PM, Regency VI–VII (Hyatt).
• Toon Tunes—Come sing along to your favorite animated tunes both old and new. The Animation Track hosts this fun session. Friday 8:30PM, Galleria 4 (Hilton).
• Charity Sabacc—We’re not offering up the Falcon, but you can learn how to win fair and square at Sabacc, the game Lando and Han played. Friday 10PM, A706 (Marriott).
• Can’t Stop the Signal Dance—Aim to misbehave, bring your dollars for charity, and dance like no power in the ’Verse can stop you! Mature Audiences Only. Friday 10PM, Grand Ballroom A–F (Sheraton).
• Get Krafty with Kaleidoscope!—Enjoy a variety of make and take crafts and coloring. Interactive and fun. Aimed at kids 12 years and younger; parental supervision required. Charity donations will be collected. Kid Friendly. Saturday 10AM, Roswell (Hyatt).
• Charity Auction: Books & Art—Check out these excellent finds in books and art. Saturday 11:30AM, Hanover C–E (Hyatt).
• MSFM Charity Games, Crafts, & Team Trivia Night—The Military Sci-Fi Team Trivia contest starts at 10PM; charity donations suggested for teams entering the contest. Kid Friendly. Saturday 8:30PM, Chastain DC (Westin).
• Main Charity Auction—Find treasures of all sorts during Dragon Con’s primary auction event. Sunday 10AM, Regency V (Hyatt).
• Don S. Davis Memorial Charity Auction—Visit this 11th annual event to celebrate your fandom, acquire some choice items from Stargate and other MSFM properties, and raise money for charity while having a frakking good time. Sunday 4PM, Regency V (Hyatt).

In addition to all of these events, each fan track will be collecting charity donations in track rooms. Dragon Con will again match dollar for dollar, up to $100,000, all money raised through charity events and donations during the 2018 convention.
