After a lifetime of science fiction and fantasy influences, the last twenty of which have been spent in IT, Geoff Termorshuizen is applying for his Ph.D. in Strategic Security after finishing a B.A in Political Science and M.Sc.'s in Cyber Security and MIS. He currently works as a technical consultant for ACI Worldwide, supporting security and financial payment systems. Dragon*Con has boldly gone where no one has gone before. Dragon*Con has broken the world record for the largest gathering of Star Trek costumes (pending confirmation). The current record was set at 543, and our initial count puts our attempt at 571. These numbers will be submitted to Guinness World Records for verification and authentication. Live long and prosper!

For the Dragon*Con 2009 blood drive, we registered 2,439 people and drew 2,012 donors—1,836 whole blood, 85 platelets donors, and 92 double red cell. The drive resulted in a final tally of 2,623 units being put into inventory (140 platelets, 1,843 red cells, and 640 plasmas). That’s 2,623 chances to actively save a life!
