“Yes, indeed!’ replied Darrell C. Hazelrig, when the Daily Dragon asked if the New Puppet Order (NPO) would be returning for Dragon Con 2013.

The Dark Companion, NPO’s award winning short film, is an official selection of the Dragon Con Film Festival this year. It’s log-lined as “a puppet has an existential crisis.” Hazelrig is the director of the film. The Dark Companion will lead off the festival’s Puppet Time hour, Sunday, 10AM, at the Learning Center, Ballroom Level (Hy).

NPO will also screen a collection of their newest films as part of Dragon Con’s Puppetry Track. Ventriloquist and comedienne Carla Rhodes will moderate beginning Saturday at 1AM, A704 (M).

NPO is described at their Facebook page as “dedicated to producing innovative, mature, and experimental motion pictures that involve the use of puppetry” and is lead by Sam Carter, Beau Brown, and Darrell C. Hazelrig. Follow them on Facebook at NewPuppetOrder and view their films on vimeo.
