The Annual Dragon Con Night at the Aquarium was once again a swimming success. The aquarium is a totally different experience at night; the lights were dimmed, the DJ was rocking, and the dance floor was full.

The Georgia Aquarium is the world’s largest and is home to the only captive whale sharks in the Western hemisphere. River otters, dolphins, manta rays, psychedelic jelly fish, and beluga whales are some of the many entertaining species inhabiting the enormous tanks. For those that enjoy the hands-on experience, the aquarium offers two interactive exhibits with stingrays, small sharks, anemones, starfish, and sea urchins.

Some of the Dragon Con costume highlights were the multiple characters from BioShock, the lionfish, little Mike Wazowski and Sully, Ursula with Flotsam and Jetsam, John Carter, and Wolverine. The artisans of Fathom had the unique opportunity to dive live with the whale sharks, manta rays, stingrays, sea bass, and other fish.

Got a break between panels? The Georgia Aquarium is a must-see stop on your Atlanta tour. Don’t forget to purchase your very own Harry Otter or The Otter Strikes Back T-shirts in the gift shop!
