Once again, the Friday Night Costuming Contest was host to a number of stunning costumes. With a focus on craftsmanship, this contest is never short on amazing pageantry. The amount of work and level of detail each contestant has given to their costumes is truly commendable. It was no easy feat choosing the winners.
Taloolah Love and New Orleans John presented the “Pin-Ups By the Pool Costume Contest” Friday 8PM at the Sheraton Hotel pool. The Dragon*Con Independent Short Film Festival awards ceremony took place on Monday, September 4th in Regency V (Hyatt). Clips were shown from each of three finalists in 13 categories (Animated Comedy, Animated Drama, Animated Fantasy, Animated Surrealism, Comedy, Dark Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Horror Comedy, Music Video, Science Fiction, Thriller) as well as the four features in the festival.
The 2011 Parsec awards were presented on Friday (9/3) at 4PM in Regency V (Hyatt), co-hosted by musician/podcaster George Hrab and author/podcaster Christiana Ellis, with musical entertainment provided by Marc Gunn. And the winners are:

Presented by the Costuming Track, and emceed with deft dexterity and swash-buckling suaveness by Nicole Harsch and Mike Sakuta from Crossed Swords, the Friday Night Costuming contest was a resounding success. With all entrants displaying fantastic costumes, a few stood out as particularly exceptional.
