On a sidetrack of my own, I traveled briefly to Seatac with Dragon*Con fans Meg and George. I may have been on the yellow brick road to the Emerald City of Seattle, but Meg had no doubts about her mission to Atlanta.

“It’s our chance to catch up with friends we haven’t seen,” Meg explained. The 2002 Miss Klingon had moved with her husband to the great Northwest, but still keeps her ties to Dragon*Con.

Look for Meg at Saturday’s parade where she will step out boldly with other former Miss Klingon pageant winners. Just don’t step too closely if you value your spare body parts. Klingon beauties are known not only for their fierce good looks, but for their skill at arms and military prowess.

Mark your calendars now for the Miss Klingon contest Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the Centennial ballroom for more Empire lovelies, not to mention a few growls and taunts.
