NASA’s Facilities: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Resources

Hilton 212–213 at 1PM Saturday was packed with attendees to see this panel of some of the NASA facilities. Andy Dykes, Sam Ortega, and Trina Ray all worked at different locations and brought their perspectives and experiences to the discussion about the unique resources NASA has to make space exploration possible.

Kennedy, Marshal, Johnson, JPL. These are only four of the 21 NASA facilities across the country. The PowerPoint presentation had aerial views of these facilities, as well as some of the on-site buildings. Each panel member was extremely knowledgeable and witty. Even though it was the first time each of them had formally met, the chemistry between them really made this panel work.

There were several great questions submitted to the panel, and their answers were perceptive. The panelists were respectful of everyone in the room, as the attendees were to the guests.

This panel was intriguing and educational. It will be interesting to see what changes happen over the year for next year’s panel.
