Zig-zagging over the new Hyatt-to-Marriott sky bridge and through unitards on Friday at 5:30 at the Marriott atrium level on my way to the “Zombies vs. Unicorns” panel, clouds of uncertainty awaited me. Which would it be: Zombie fumes or unicorn magic mist?
The packed room (A707) for Young Adult Literature (YA) gave no answer. One side reeked of rotting flesh, ichor, and gore. The other half of the room equally gleamed with sparkle and magic. Only one seat left–on the unicorn side. I sat among them. Was it my imagination or did flowers grow under the hooves, I mean, feet, of the unicorn proponents?
By acclaim, the unicorns won top honors. Zombies, aka the “living dead,” demand a recount! Dare to vote, brain-bag?
