The hallmark of this year’s masquerade was flair and stage presence. While the quality of the costumes on display was fantastic as always, it was clear that the costumers with the best stage presence had a distinct advantage over the others. We saw Thranduil pull out a pair of light-up glasses and dance and a knight turn into a were-dragon.
Choosing the winners must have been difficult for judges Frank Ippolito, Anthony Simcoe, and Roy Wooley, but here they are:
- Best in Show: Danika Massey as Robocop
- Best Novice: Amanda Fehlner as Necromancer
- Best Journeymen: Joseph Terry, Tyson Ungerhuehler, Mike Crews, Lisa Bregent, Erica Howard, Celeste Zapata, Vicki Pak, Zack Rose, Sarah Browning, and Jeff Randle as The Steampunk Avengers
- Best Master: Chip Malinowski as the Dragon Knight
- Best Video: Eva Chatman with Daedric Werewolf Armor
- Best Historical Recreation: Wayne Neumaler as Jim Lovell
- Best Bioshock: Mike Carambat as Big Daddy
- Best Villain: Dena Pendragon as Ursula
- Best Fantasy: Josh Duart as Thranduil
