I was lucky to meet one of the founders of the TAPS, Grant Wilson. I spotted him in the Hyatt as he was traveling upstairs and asked him a few questions for the Daily Dragon.
Daily Dragon (DD): First, thank you so much for your time. I know you are swamped and that you just got here at the con.
Grant Wilson (GW): You’re welcome.
DD: You have had such a positive influence on paranormal investigating. How old were you when you had your first experience and what got you started doing paranormal investigations?
GW: It happened when I was 15. I’m 34 now, so that makes it-what?-19 years now. I had a personal experience, which I really don’t like to get into, but it went on for about two years. It wasn’t like my grandmother visiting me or anything like that. It was unusual. I asked friends, people who were “knowledgeable” in the field. That led me to more questions, which led me to read books and do research on what I experienced. That led me to investigating.
DD: Do you find yourself still researching the newest information out there?
GW: Not really. I have a way that I like to do things and I learn from that. Everyone had their own paths. I don’t want to copy anyone else. There is no one way to do anything. In this field, you can blaze your own path.
DD: How did you and Jason hook up?
GW: We both had an interest in the paranormal. I was putting together a website with a portfolio and he was working on a website. We added to each others’ stuff, and it grew from there. I used to work in the IT field. I got out of that and we started working together in pluming with Rotor Router.
DD: If you had one piece of advice for someone interested in the paranormal field, what would you say?
GW: Take everything with a grain of salt. There is a lot out there.
DD: Thank you so much for your time. I greatly appreciate it.
