The Humble and Funny Eddie McClintock, Esq.

A fan favorite, Eddie McClintock, Esq., was on the Main Track Saturday at 10:30PM. Lee was the moderator and has built a friendship with McClintock over the past 11 years he has been to the Con.

McClintock will celebrate 20 years sober on January 1st. Even with being in quarantine, he is still able to attend virtual AA meetings. This has also allowed him to reconnect with friends he has not seen in 15 years. There is always a bright side to COVID-19.

Originally a wrestler and football player, he came into acting due to the fact that he “had been fired from every other job.” One of his biggest “accomplishments” was meeting his hero Bruce Campbell when he was going to dinner with a group of friends. McClintock said he was so awestruck, he couldn’t make a complete sentence at first. They all had a great time, and he now has a wonderful memory of it.

When asked about attending Dragon Con, McClintock stated, “Dragon Con in my home.” He loved attending every year. He was glad that he could do it virtually this year, and next year is going to the “the year of hugs.”

While under quarantine, he has been working out training for a half marathon. Since he cannot go to a gym, it’s important to him to stay active. This is how he helps himself battle with depression and anxiety. “Go outside” is his motto. Even if it’s only as far as your front steps at first. You can build on that. You will feel better.

He has several episodes from Warehouse 13 that were his favorites: “Savage Seduction,” “Noir,” “The Greatest Gift” (2nd Christmas special), and “Body Swap” were some that he mentioned. He loved doing the series since there was so much you could take away from the episodes. It made it more real as the viewers were learning about physics and history.

What did he get from the set when the series was over? He got to take home all of his dress clothes that were Prada, the bongos that were on Artie’s desk, and a Tesla rifle. The two artifacts that he would create would be a backstage pass to a Janis Joplin concert that would allow you to attend any concert, and an artifact that would give people the ability to really communicate. If people could communicate, there would be less problems in the world.

He did create a Dragon Con t-shirt again this year. The last day to get one is September 8th, so hurry and place your order now. Once the date has passed, you will not be able to get it. The link is on the Dragon Con website.

This humble and talented actor is such a fan favorite. Be ready for hugs in 2021.
