Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons and causes degeneration throughout the brain and spinal cord. Although the cause of ALS is not completely understood, the last decade has brought more significant advances of research into ALS than all of the time since the disease was first identified in 1869.

Charity Auction Submissions:

We welcome all submissions for the 2012 Charity Auction. Without donations from people just like you, we would not have been able to raise $40,000 for last year’s charity, the National Inclusion Project. Items sold at past charity auctions have included: books, comic books, artwork, signed photos, movie props, prop replicas, toys, games, costumes, DVD players, computers, TVs, store and restaurant gift cards, weekend getaways at hotels, site visits to the “live” set of a TV series, a meal with an actor or writer, a writing review by an editor, inclusion (Tuckerization) in an upcoming book, and much more. If you have an idea for something you’d like to donate and would like to discuss it, contact us at (charityevents@dragoncon.org) charityevents (at) dragoncon (dot) org; we would love to have you donate an item for us to sell at the charity auction.

Send charity items for this year’s event to:

Please include your contact information (name and mailing address or email) for donation tracking purposes. We will be using a new computer system this year that allows us to track all donations and after the completion of the convention we will be sending out receipts to everyone that made a donation.

As always, we thank you for your generosity!
