Renderosity Is For Artists

Renderosity is a company dedicated to furthering the graphic technology, and the artists that use it.  Their website gets 91 million hits and transfers 30 gigabytes of information a day.  They have an active user base of one hundred thousand artists and professionals and the group grows by approximately 200 users a day.  Not bad for having roughly 45 employees.  These statistics were given to me by a lovely informal lunch by Clint Hawkins (Clint H to Renderosity users) and Audre (yes, just Audre.) Clint H. is the Market Plan Manager and also the test team leader.  Audre is the editor of the magazine of the same namesake.

Renderosity membership is easy and free.  All it takes is to sign up and agree to the terms of service.  The terms as explained to me, are put there to moderate and control possible problem users and certain content. Audre explained to me, that feedback on an active artist’s publishing from other users is almost instantaneous, and that any questionable material is removed from the site after a consensus of moderators has reached a decision based on content of the art posted. Their Limitations on what can be Uploaded is typical of a website that is not dedicated to eroticism or porn or hate.

Vendors of major creative rendering programs are available for purchase on their site.  They make all files available for 30 days after purchase so backing up is recommended, however there is a $10 Burn and ship option.  Every file loaded into the Market place are tested for product quality and stability, and will not make it to the Market place without testing.  Every user has submission guidelines so there is uniformity on Pixel, usability, and quality.  Audre explained to me, that feedback on an active artists publishing from other users is almost instantaneous, and that any Questionable material is removable from a consensus of moderators, Their Limitations on what can be Uploaded is typical of a website that is not dedicated to eroticism or porn or hate. If you are an artist that is planning a website, Renderosity offers many Helpful resources. Recognition, Web pages, Web Galleries, Online Chat, Store, Forums, and File Transfers are a few named.  The online store provides files that were created for Poser, Rhino 3-d, World Builder, original artwork, and Photoshop

Commission on Sales is 50% unless you use Renderosity in an exclusive contract, which then it is 40%.  Renderosity takes care of accounting, availability, and quality.  So it sounds reasonable in consideration of the benefits available.  Artists that work in 2-D also have the available resource of Print purchases, where the user can purchase a print that the Renderosity prints and ships according the customers specifications.  More Information can be found on their website, www.Renderosity.com and at their booth in the art show.
